Eclipse Blinds is pleased to announce that we have started manufacturing 50mm aluminium venetian blinds in Johannesburg and at our Cape Town factory.

Until now, aluminium venetian blinds had a commercial stigma because they are mostly used in the office environment. We have hybridised the 50mm aluminium slats with a wooden bottom rail and matching wooden valance, to soften the effect and make it more attractive to the domestic market. All other components are exactly the same as we use for our timber blinds and consequently the new aluminium venetian blind operates in the same fashion. A 50mm aluminium venetian blind is significantly lighter than a timber blind of the same size with approximately half the stacking height. This is particularly relevant when placing blinds over doorways from a weight and clearance perspective. The client can choose any one of the 13 wood colours in our timber range as a trim to any of the 6 colours in our 50mm aluminium range.

These colours include four wood grain finishes plus a silver and bronze.

We expect to broaden our range of 50mm aluminium venetian blinds to include more plain colours in the New Year.
